Homes for the future. Originally conceived to replace burned homes in California and the Pacific North West in areas not covered by registered insurance carriers. These homes exceed all codes – there is not even a classification in the code for this level of fire resistance. They are highly resistant to all manner of disasters and typical building failures. They use little concrete or lumber. They are super high performance so they have low utilities. They are no maintenance for eighty years and then a little work (clean and paint roof) and good for another 60 years or so. These are designed to be used for hundreds of years. This is the same age in place design with different finishes – typically clients start with a pre-designed plan and modify it though many design from the ground up. If you want peace of mind while having a small footprint on the environment this is something to consider. No need to compromise – a better product for less cost.
